Yokohama India Supports Nepal Earthquake victims
Donates Rs 5 Lacs to Indian Red Cross Society New Delhi, 17 September 2015: Yokohama India, a fully owned subsidiary of Yokohama Japan has donated Rs. 5,00,000/- (Rupees Five Lacs Only) to Support Nepal earthquake Victims through The Indian Red Cross Society. Nepal has recently been stuck with major calamities through two Earthquakes, the 1st in April 2015, with a magnitude of 7.8Mw, killed more than 9,000 people and injured more than 23,000, and the 2nd in May 2015, with a Magnitude of 7.3 Mw killed at least 153 people and injured 3,200 people. “We were saddened by the loss of life in Nepal and wanted to assist them with aftermaths of earthquake , so that they can come out of the grief fast” said Mr. Satoshi Fujitsu, Managing Director, Yokohama India Pvt Ltd” The Indian Red Cross Society is the leading statutory humanitarian organization in India which provides relief during disasters/emergencies and promotes health & care of the vulnerable people and communities. Mr. P.C. Partihari (Deputy Secretary), Red Cross Society of India whileaccepting the Cheque said “The donations received now will be used to replenish the relief items already dispatched to the earthquake affected Nepal and adjoining states of India as well as for any future disaster relief intervention mounted by the IRCS”.
